John C. Cline was elected Constable of the Los Angeles Township in 1884. His badge is made of sterling silver and the lettering is hand cut.

Circa 1900, these two badges were made by M. Demas Jewelry. The badge on the left was the result of mis-communication. The entire order of badges were supposed to read Deputy Sheriff. They were all sent back and had panels added to read Deputy Sheriff. It was also decided that while they were at it they should number each badge as well. The picture far right shows the reverse side of the badge including the rivets that hold the panels onto the badge.
