Above image of Thorvald Brown (Sr.) who served from 1903 until the early 1940's. He served as "Chief" of the Fruitvale Police Station which later became eastern station. His son, Thorvald Brown (Jr.) also made Captain in the Oakland PD. He served in the 1960's Vice Squad and retired in 1970. Photograph is signed Bushnell, SF, a well known photographic studio in San Francisco. Photograph measures 13 1/2 x 10 1/2 inches and overall framed size is 15 x 12 inches.

Police XXVI is one of the rarest Oakland badges. Used by the Park Police in the 1890's and worn by officer J. McDennis. Badge XVII is circa 1910.
