This very rare double sided badge is sterling silver and dates back to 1860. The badge was first used as a police officer badge. After many years of service the badge was returned to the jeweler and the back of the badge soon became this beautiful Sergeants badge.

These old timers are both sterling and hand engraved.  Most likely they were both used in San Francisco before 1880.
