Introduction by Jim Casey
Traditionally the police badge has been used to acknowledge special deeds or promotions of police professionals. Much rarer is the presentation walking cane. These
canes were often made in sterling and gold and were engraved with the presenters words and thoughts. This photo gallery will feature some of these unique canes from my personal collection as well as those submitted by viewers like you.

This beautiful cane done in sterling silver has the following presentation: "From Chas. & J.J. Farley - Manila P. I. - Aug. 13th, 1898 - to H. R. Farley - Sheriff Salinas Monterey Co. Cal. - But - Presented to his friend & successor - M. R. Keef - as an expression of - confidence & esteem - of the donors."
This photo shows the top of the cane with a crowned symbol.
This cane is done in gold and was presented to the 3rd Sheriff of Orange Co. Cal. and the presentation reads: "Theo Lacy - Nov. 5th 1892". Similar canes were presented at the same time to other officials of the county.

This cane presented by the police and the presentation which reads:
Francis Blee - from the 19th District Police of Philadelphia"
This cane was presented to the Chief of Police of Solvay, N.Y. and the presentation reads:
"Presented to - Chief of Police - H. E. Clark -
by Saint Cecelia's Church - Solvay, N. Y.
After you collect a few canes you'll need a nice stand to display them in.
