Personal badges of William B. Payne.  The badge on the left is hallmarked Entenmenn Los Angeles 15 and the badge on the right is stamped STERLING and was made by Irvine & Jachens. 
William B. Payne was born 16 Apr. 1915 in Texas and passed on 29 Nov. 1962 aged 47 in Stanislaus Co.
He was buried in Santa Rosa at the Odd Fellows Cemetery.
In 1961 and 1962 the City Directory shows him living in Salinas and his occupatioin is listed as Guard.  SKU5255

Hawaiian Detective Bureau.  Sterling silver with hard fired black enamel.
Post Civil War jeweler made Deputy U. S. Marshal badge made in the classic “police belt” design.  14k gold layered over a sterling silver base.  Red and blue hard fired enamel highlight the crossed U.S. flags and the crossed cannons.
Marshal Corte Madera Marin Co.and worn by William A. Wyatt who also owned a Fruit and Vegetable business in Corte Madera.  The star is made of sterling silver with hard fired blue enameled lettering and nicely hand engraved.  Hallmarked Irvine & Jachens 1027 Market St. and dated 7-14-24.
Circa 1900 Constable Eden Township badge made by
United States Marshal  A.D. Garden badge.  Presented by E. L. Nash & E. L. Priddie 1895.  14k gold.
U. S. Deputy Marshal from Texas, made of sterling silver with a 14k gold scroll in the beak of the eagle.  T-pin on back, maker unknown.
