The San Francisco Call December 22, 1895, page 7, mentions, "Company D, First Infantry Regiment, held its thirty-sixth annual banquet in the armory on Market street last night"

Badge #82 is featured on the cover of Badges of Law And Order by George Virgines published in 1987 and also on the cover of Badges of America's Finest by James Casey published in 2008.

Presentation badge of Reno Barsocchini from the San Francisco Police Athletic League.  Made by Irvine & Jachens and stamped Gold Filled.
Reno Barsocchini was a celebrity in San Francisco.  A former baseball player with the San Francisco Seals in the 1930's, he met and became friends with Joe DiMaggio.
After baseball he was the owner of  "Reno's" bar, downtown in San Francisco, and would run Joe's restaurant,
 "Joe DiMaggio's Grotto" on Fisherman's Wharf,
San Francisco. On January 14, 1954 he was Joe's DiMaggio's best man at his wedding with Marilyn Monroe.
