California Loan Office, was a pawnbroker and jeweler, located at a couple different addresses, but from 1911 - 1933 was at 835 Broadway in  Oakland.

Hallmarked California 835 Bdway Oakland, CAL  Hayward was incorporated under special act of the Legislature in 1876 and then by general laws in 1892.  In 1913 the Marshal was Charles J. Schilling.

A perfect example of the “jewelers art” this hand engraved Stockton police detective star #7 is made of sterling silver and hallmarked Ed Jones Co. Oakland. Circa 1925.
